the trouble with stacking bones (2019)
17 minutes

a solo that deals with the consolidation of memories and the concept of dancing one’s lineage. using a personal archive of recorded movement improvisations as source material, the work tasks the performer with live-recalling these digital entities to create a conversation between remembered, past selves and the present. the end product is a story told through text and movement composed entirely of fragments of past experiences – laying bare the process of both dance-making and memory-making.
